Not much early speed of note and Rach and Magic Flames may find themselves setting a steady tempo. Another very plain affair made weaker by some key scratchings. MAGIC FLAMES (6) ran a nice race first-up at Wyong then travelled on the speed but couldn't quicken over 1100m at Gosford last time. Will appreciate a bit less pressure up front this evening so a better effort is on the cards. EDGE OF INFINITY (8) weakened in the run home when resuming over 1200m at Warwick Farm recently. The best of her three runs was when she encountered a soft track on debut. Can improve with a bit of give in the ground. Debutante JUST MAZ (3) is in the red in early markets following a recent Rosehill trial win. Won't need to be anything special to be highly competitive here. RACH (7) resumes. Ran a shocker first-up last prep then started to put things together. Faces a very thin field this evening so she should make her presence felt. The other two runners are first starters who look like they need more time. SUGGESTED PLAY: Dodging the two shorties - Magic Flames is worth a throw at the stumps.
