Prescient to take charge ahead of Kingson at a strong tempo. CHEF MILITAIRE (5) was strong fresh when resuming off a long break and is much better than what he showed second-up when clearly flat. Expect a sharp rebound third-up, and the booking of Murtagh is a positive signal. THE HASS (1) can mix his form but is the class runner, only beaten a neck last start as favourite. Draws well again and simply needs to hold that level to be winning. PRESCIENT (2) was narrowly denied fresh but hasn’t quite reproduced that effort since. Now cherry-ripe and worth sticking with as he looks ready to deliver. SMOKIN’ EYES (8) was a flashing light at Oakbank, rattling home into fourth. He’ll likely drift back again from the draw but will be charging late if the race shape allows. SUGGESTED PLAY: Chef Militaire to win.
