In a race devoid of pace Inspirational Mac will be prominent. LATORIO (6) missed by 1.6L two back before a narrow defeat last start when flying late in the race at this track and trip. Can sit a touch closer in the run today and rates highly on that effort. Had a few goes now, but her last couple of efforts say she's ready to knock one over now. CALEB (5) finished off nicely last start and actually beat home Latorio in that effort. The blinkers go on now as he steps out in trip for the first time. Needs some luck from the draw but ticks enough boxes to suggest he'll turn in a bold effort. NOW SHOWING (1) just missed two back before a 1.8L defeat over the mile here 27 days ago. Back to 1400m today is a slight niggle, but he rates well off recent efforts and can run into the finish once again. COSTA STAR (8) flew home first-up after being slowly away and can improve sharply. SPANGLEDSTAR (7) is next best. SUGGESTED PLAY: Latorio gets the nod in the opener.
