Expecting a strong pace headed by General Assembly, Sushi Express and Fast Thinker. EARENDEL (8) won first-up, delivering the hat-trick and then raced a firm favourite again and was a bit keen in front stepping up to the mile. He's further improved, and Newitt is a key jockey switch. Proven third up and at the track, and ridden more economically, he can bounce back. SUSHI EXPRESS (5) resumed at long odds in Stakes grade beaten 2L over 1400. Flies second-up and is a winner here over this distance. Rates a threat. BLONDE STAR (6) won the Earendel race comfortably. Will be further improved and has claims. WINEGLASS BAY (1) has had two starts this preparation, both at Stakes level. He'd delivered a hat-trick prior and can show more stepping up to a mile. Tougher for THE LONGEST YARD (12), but he keeps winning. SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Earendel.
