Plenty of pace from Red Pearl and Zansu, with the added uncertainty of the several unraced runners engaged. RED PEARL (9) worked hard to find the front on debut at Te Aroha 12 days ago and felt the pinch late. She has a superior gate and may be suited to the drop back to 1200m, so stick with her. On top in this even field. ATKINS (2) made up a lot of ground to finish runner-up at Arawa Park nearly 5 weeks ago, and she has been a late scratching since then. If she doesn't need the run, then she will be right in the finish again. ARCTIC JEWEL (5) is showing a lot of promise in 2 starts to date, and she dons the blinkers for the first time. Her first win is not far away. BUCCINO (1) probably should have won a race by now, and she resumes from a spell without a public trial. The visor blinkers come off, and she should not be risked in any top 4 combos. MAZINO (4) led up and only faded late when second at Te Aroha last start. She has been freshened up and should be very competitive again. ELUSIVE FAITH (6) has been showing promise and is another with top 4 claims. SUGGESTED PLAY: Red Pearl can win this.
