Expecting a genuine tempo. PEDUNCLE ARCH (9) built on a nice third two starts back with a win as favourite over 1500m at this track a week-and-a-half ago, getting home by 1.5 lengths. Tatsuya Nakajima scored on him last time and retains the mount. Taking on a better field but he is good enough to score again. TOP TARUMAE (4) wound up strongly last time out to finish third over 1400m at this track. Has a good record here at this journey with three wins and five minor placings from 11 starts. Expected to be in the finish. HAKUSAN MIRACLE (7) showed good speed to lead over 1400m at this track last start but faded right out of it to finish seventh. Should camp just off the leaders. One of the main contenders. KAKUSHIN (5) raced on the speed from the outset and went to score by a head last time over 1400m at this track. Has a good record here at this journey with two wins and three minor placings from seven starts. Deserves respect on best figures.
