Solid tempo set by Italian Spirit and Hereward. ITALIAN SPIRIT (3) showed tremendous pace on debut and did a fine job to hang on for second at the end of 1250m at the Beaumont track a fortnight ago. Out of an Oaks winner so the extra 300m looks perfect. Will prove very tough to reel in this time. HEREWARD (2) travelled handy all the way before registering his third minor placing from four runs last time out over this course and distance. Should be peaking now after two runs back and from a nice alley won't spend a cent in the run. SUNSPRITE (12) only warmed up when the race was all over on debut recently in a 1300m Kensington maiden. Needs luck from a wide draw but the longer journey is a positive change. RIEZ SOUVENT (5) has had his chance in the last two appearances but just come up short. The application of blinkers may provide the little extra spark required. PINK PERSUASION (8) is another Waller runner who is racing well and may benefit by the shades going on for the first time. SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen on Italian Spirit.
