Solid tempo with several going forward headed by Los Santos. BORN TO BE ROYAL (6) ran on powerfully at Te Aroha when resuming from a spell over 1400m. The step up to a mile is the key here, and even from a wide gate, she is the one to beat in this. LOS SANTOS (1) tried hard and was not far away in a strong field at Listed level at Ellerslie nearly 3 weeks ago. He has a superior gate this time, and with the blinkers off for the first time, he will go close to taking this out. BEABOPALULA (7) did not find much when asked in her last start at Arawa Park fortnight ago. Her form before that was building nicely towards a win, and she can bounce straight back into the money here. LA DANZA (8) made an encouraging debut at Arawa Park 2 weeks ago when steaming home late out wide to finish runner-up by a length. She cops a wide gate here, but will only need the gaps to come at the right time, to be in the finish again. Each-way. DELLA RICCI (9) battled on solidly to finish fifth on debut at New Plymouth. She will continue to improve, so stick with her. SUGGESTED PLAY: Los Santos will be hard to hold out in this.
