Should be a keen tempo with Gioia Magica, Show Merican and Rocky Balboa prominent. BHARNSTORM (1) is a progressive gelding who has been placed in 3 of his 4 starts, including a last start nose defeat at Pukekohe just under 2 weeks ago. He should relish stepping up to a middle distance for the first time, and he is set to go one better here. SHOW MERICAN (9) is racing honestly this season, and finished a game third last start as the favourite when trying to lead all the way at Arawa Park 2 weeks ago. She tries a middle distance for the first time, and could take some pegging back again. ACER (12) has battled on strongly for fourth in her last couple of starts, and her breeding and racing pattern say she will love the extra 440m on offer here. Each way claims.
