Expecting a genuine tempo with Thoughtful setting the tone from an outside draw, joined by Kijivu. VORES (11) might be ready to strike here after three runs back from a spell. Found only one better first up, which was on this track. Unplaced at the next two but wasn't beaten far last start in a race that looked a touch tougher than this. KIJIVU (5) ran fourth at his latest appearance over 1200m at Casterton, finishing 5 lengths from the winner. Likely to be in the finish. STARGUST (3) hinted he might be in for a good campaign with a nice first-up second, which was on a Heavy track and similar conditions here would be right up his alley. BRUZANI (8) missed the placings when resuming two runs back then improved last start but found a couple better over 1550m at Mt Gambier, beaten only 1.75 lengths. Nicely placed to play a pivotal role. TOES IN FIRST (6) hit the frame two starts ago at Mt Gambier but ran below par last time when 13th and beaten 21 lengths over 1550m at Mt Gambier. Has his share of ability and can do a lot better. SUGGESTED PLAY: Vores each-way.
