CARNIVAL RICHES (9) settled well back last start and never threatened when 16 lengths from the winner in 12th over 1600m at Flemington. Faces an easier assignment so she is set to turn things around. DON'TCALLMECHAMP (3) registered a strong win at Wodonga two runs ago. Decent effort last time out when in the firing line on the corner before finishing second over 1600m at Swan Hill, beaten a head. Nicely placed to return to winning form. AHAB (2) went forward from the low draw last start and sat on the pace before sticking on well to finish second over 2000m at Casterton. Back in trip here and drawn out but should be in the mix. JUST LANDED (4) ran below expectations last time at Kilmore, finishing sixth and beaten 8 lengths but is nicely placed to make amends. SIDE PIECE (5) did nothing first-up but ran a much improved race last start, which was over 1800m, so he'll be fit enough to peak here back to the 1620m. SUGGESTED PLAY: Carnival Riches each-way.
