GOING: G(4)

CELLY OFF THE BLOCKS PROVINCIAL CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1400m

Track: GOOD 4   Clouds (Max: 18)   Rail: +4m 1600m-400m cutaway applies, True Remainder.

Strong tempo assured from Six Kings and Dynast King leading the charge. ROSE OF FENWAY (4) returned from a 170-day spell and created a great impression last start at the Illawarra Grange circuit, leading all the way and showing no signs of stopping at the end of 1300m. Lightly raced filly who has enough improvement in the locker to go to this next level. ALL STAR (1) had been bashing on the door and finally broke his maiden status last time out when a narrow winner over 1500m at Newcastle. Freshened up since that success seven weeks ago. Beautifully bred colt who can go on to better things now. ALAMAGAN (3) settled last then made minor inroads in the straight when resuming over this trip on the Grange circuit recently. May need one more but a top three finish is not out of the question. WEBEJAMIN (7) struggled first-up over 1200m but is more at home under today's scenario - watch for a much better performance. EMERY (5) is back from a six-month spell. Improved substantially last prep and with three trials under her belt she should be up for this. SUGGESTED PLAY: Hard to split Rose Of Fenway and All Star - backing the pair.

Form hard to fault. Returns from a 49-day let-up. At the latest run ran on from midfield and won by a head at Newcastle Super Mdn May 2 over 1500m defeating Titan Of Fury carrying 58.5kg at $7.50. The start before that made some head-way from midfield; 2nd of 7 at this track Cg&E Mdn-Sw on April 18 over 1500m, slow going nose behind Eynesbury with 57kg at $3.60. Big chance on the back of that encouraging effort last time.
