There should be a bit of pressure with Rippen Gold and Ice Crystal pressing forward in advance of Merlin Beach and Argyll Diamond. SOUTH GEORGIA (7) is much better than the form line suggests. Didn't manage the middle distance last time, but his two runs prior this trip stack right up. Has an inside gate and will carry a feather with the 4kg claim. This is winnable for her. I'M A MACHINE (1) won his Maiden easily here over 1400m as expected. Keeps Byrne Burke and she's flying. The mile will suit this time around and he looks capable of taking the next step. MERLIN BEACH (2) was also heavily bet winning her Maiden over this trip at Launceston. He also has upside and has to be considered. WHISPER OF MATILDA (10) got too far back here last time over a middle distance but placed this trip prior. Gets in well with the claim and should be around the mark. STAR PERFORMER (3) has been racing well over longer and will also be running into it. SUGGESTED PLAY: With South Georgia.
