Portrush should lead at a strong tempo. STRINGFELLOW (4) has looked very smart, winning 2 trials since being gelded late last year. He makes his debut from the inform Johno Benner stable, and he is sure to be very well-found in the market. MANUKA RUSH (3) found the line with purpose fresh up at Whanganui nearly 3 weeks ago, finishing fifth, and only 2 lengths from the winner. A wet track will probably suit him even more, and he has top 3 claims in a field like this. PORTRUSH (1) was a touch disappointing at Whanganui last time out on a track that was probably too firm. He was a bold runner-up on debut, and he can make amends in this. DOUBLE SHOT (5) was put aside after a couple of solid runs to open her career late last year. She is stronger now, and she is not to be taken lightly in this. Each way value. SUGGESTED PLAY: Stringfellow can win on debut.
