Backdraft is likely to take charge and set a decent tempo. FLARE OF SENSE (9) was prominent into the straight last time but was overwhelmed late and wound up in fourth over 2600m at Fukushima. Placed only try at the trip. Change of rider and overdue for a win. Gets chance. BACKDRAFT (7) stepped out on his debut over 1800m at Hanshin three weeks ago and finished fifth, beaten 5.5 lengths. Expected to improve and will pay to follow up. BRUISER (2) is a four-start maiden who is knocking on the door, the latest effort a solid fourth at Hanshin over 2000m after being prominent at the turn. Suitably placed so anticipating another big run. LONG HOLIDAY (8) has not raced since he finished 14th over 1800m at Kokura on January 24. One of the main contenders.
