Doubt they will go too hard without a noted leader engaged. CASTRO (1) registered his fifth minor placing from eight starts when an eye-catching third over 1400m at Mudgee last time out. Coming back in trip in a race that will probably lack tempo is not an ideal scenario, but he is going better than most of these. MILLICENT DAISY (8) led in a change of tactics at her latest run but she tired late and missed the placings over 1280m at Muswellbrook. Might run a cheeky race here if they decide to go forward again. PINERO (4) bounced back to form last start over the mile at Tamworth. Not sure 1300m is her go but a top three finish is in her sights. POLENS (9) is a 37-start maiden who can improve second-up - one for the trifectas and first fours. SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen to be on Castro.
