ANCONA (3) might find this easier than the last attempt and had been going very well with back-to-back wins prior. Is yet to be beaten in two starts at this course and distance. Strong prospects. REGOLITH (6) showed early speed from a good draw last start then battled on well for second, beaten 1.5 lengths, over 1300m at this track. May prove hard to beat in this suitable race. MERRY MOANA (10) finished sixth over 900m at Kawasaki at her most recent appearance on December 11. Now under the care of new trainer Tadayoshi Hosokawa. Definite chance. NAMURA LEO (2) was out of the money when resuming from a spell but strips fitter and can improve.
