A race that lacks early pressure on paper.
SWEET MARLENE (15) made it six minor placings from thirteen starts when a closing third over 1000m at Tamworth last time out. Continues to race well, particularly at this distance. Not a great deal of form around the raced runners here so she gets her chance. RAINBOW LASS (12) has been knocking on the door, most recently flashing home for second over 1000m at Ballina. Needs luck from an awful gate but she is going better than most of these. KIRRA'S SISTER (8) battled on steadily to finish fourth when resuming from a spell over 1000m at Ballina last start. That was the first run for a new stable. Should be about the money. MONACO FLYER (14) on debut for local trainer John Shelton should attract interest on the back of a big trial win here on 13 April. Casino Prince debutante CASINO COLLECTION (13) bolted in at Port Macquarie in a recent trial. Looks pretty smart. SUGGESTED PLAY: Sweet Marlene on top but respect any support for the unraced runners.
