Ghardaia and Red Bande can set an even tempo. FEIERN KRANZ (9) made considerable ground in the run home to finish third last start over 2200m in stakes class at Hanshin. Takes on tougher opposition this time but is expected to be in the finish. ENERGICO (10) is an exciting galloper unbeaten after two starts. Last raced when successful by 1.3 lengths over 1800m at this track 12 weeks ago. This is his biggest test but it is hard to deny his credentials. GOLTZSCHTAL (4) showed good early pace over 2400m at Hanshin last time and kept going to score by 0.8 lengths. It doesn't get any easier but on that form he is right in contention. MATENRO BAROWS (1) comes here off a last-start fourth, beaten 2.5 lengths, in the Grade 2 Spring Stakes over 1800m at Nakayama. Promising type with two wins from two prior to that. Expected to feature.
