ALMALIKAT SARAH (12) was ridden quietly then let down in good style to finish less than two lengths from the winner on debut last start over 1420m at this track. Sure to be tough to hold out over this sort of journey. CLEVER ILLUSION (1) recorded a fifth minor placing last time out when an eye-catching third over 1400m at Armidale. Has had a stack of chances but should be competitive again with this step up in trip. JED (2) raced closer to the speed than usual before tiring for a midfield finish over 1420m here recently. Capable of improvement out to this more suitable distance. LABARNA (3) returned to form last start over the mile here. Best form comes on wet surfaces so keep an eye on conditions. MAJESTIC THUNDER (4) has been safely held at all four runs but is lightly raced and has more scope for improvement than most of these. SUGGESTED PLAY: Almalikat Sarah on top in a weak maiden.
