Platinum Gift and King Spirit to take up the running at a genuine tempo. KING SPIRIT (1) made it two wins from the last three starts when he got the job done by 2.3 lengths favourite over 1100m at Sunshine Coast Poly last start. That was his first all weather attempt and handled it well. Can repeat the dose. EXPLOSIVE POWER (2) proved too strong with a maiden win two runs ago at Doomben and wasn't disgraced at that same track last time. Faces an easier assignment so he is a major player. CHOSEN LEGEND (4) is a three-year-old filly who is having her first run for the Barry Lockwood yard. Winner over 1600m at Caulfield Heath three back. Hasn't raced for four months but will be fitter for placing in a Doomben trial. VACILLATION (6) deserves respect off a last-start placing. SUGGESTED PLAY: King Spirit to deliver on the poly again.
