Without an obvious leader, it may be left to Maui Man, Top Arctic and Apppleby to control the tempo. QUANTUM IMPACT (2) finds the right race third-up from a spell. Both runs back have been good despite going under as a short priced favourite at Mornington last time out in a small field, beaten 0.9 lengths. Gets the blinkers and Blake Shinn on here which can prove the difference. APPPLEBY (9) struggles to win but is going okay, working home well for a narrow third at Pakenham when last seen. Sets up nicely from the draw here and should prove competitive. MAUI MAN (3) is in good form and has a bit of upside. Bred to appreciate this rise in trip now and maps nicely. NEW YORK SCANDAL (8) finds the right race and can improve. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Quantum Impact.
