Plenty of pace likely from Maurita, Smokin' De Quo and Optimus Maximus battling for the lead from Epic Flash.
GUARDED OPTIMIST (2) was racing well before a thirty-day break preceding his last run. Settled a long way at the Gold Coast in an 1800m BM58 last start and failed to get involved. Fitter and worth another chance. MAURITA (8) finally broke her maiden last time out at the twelfth attempt, scoring narrowly over 1890m at Toowoomba. Very fit after three runs back from a spell and can go on with it now. JUSTICE SERVED (3) finished third in a similar race to this here two runs back before a modest effort over more ground recently on the Sunshine Coast poly. Good each-way hope back in a more suitable contest. BONZABELTER (6) has been on or about the money at his last three. Well in after the claim and should be competitive again. OPTIMUS MAXIMUS (5) hasn't landed a blow in his three runs this prep but can improve. SUGGESTED PLAY: Guarded Optimist to win.
