In a race devoid of pace Eighty Eight Stars will be prominent. DOLLY JAYNE (6) returned to form last start with a close second over 1400m at Quirindi. Has placed at four of eight starts over today's trip. Nicely drawn and looks sure to be right there at the business end. EGOTISTIC (3) put the writing on the wall last time out when she chimed in late to finish runner-up over 1130m at Grafton. Suited by the small field and this slightly longer journey. Definite contender. EIGHTY EIGHT STARS (2) did a reasonable job to clock in fourth over 1000m when fresh from a break at Gunnedah recently. Hard to beat out to this more suitable trip with the run under the belt. Consistent mare FOOLS PLAY (4) comes here off a seven-week let-up. Placed six of six at 1200m so leave her out of the exotics at your peril. LADY ICHIKAWA (1) got too far back first-up at Parkes but can improve in this easier race. SUGGESTED PLAY: Dolly Jayne on top but little separates the top five selections.
