CALM GAZE (3) turned in a sound effort last time but found one better at this track over 1400m, beaten half a length. Yet to find winning form this prep but has been thereabouts with four placings from six starts. Expected to feature. MONTE LEON (1) finished 1.5 lengths from the winner in fourth last start after being in contention on the bend over 1500m at this track, an improvement on his fifth at this track the run before. Nicely placed to get the prize. DREAD STATUS (2) showed good early speed and led throughout to score by half a length last start over 1400m at this track. Solid prospects again. ABENTEUER (8) was beaten 6 lengths into sixth in a 1500m contest at this track last time out. The engagement of Tatsuya Nakajima is a positive move. Well placed to make amends.
