GOING: H(8)

RACING NEXT SUNDAY 17TH MAY - COCKIES DAY R60 1400m

Track: HEAVY 8     Out 4m

Moderate tempo with Tears Of Victory leading the way. SANDY LANE (6) put in some solid efforts last winter, but she also mixed in some pretty average runs as well. She is resuming at an easier level, and she has been placed fresh up in the past. Hard to beat in a modest field, especially if the money comes for her. TEARS OF VICTORY (7) ran a much better race for second at this level when tried in front at Waverley a month ago. She can lead this field as well from the pole position, and she could again take some pegging back. HORONUKU (2) has turned a corner in his last couple of starts, and he will be dropping down in grade from his last start third at New Plymouth nearly 6 weeks ago. The drop back to 1400m won't be an issue with the gap between runs, so stick with him. CHICAGO JACK (1) ran his best recent race over this trip 3 starts back, and he can also be competitive again at this easier level. Each-way. JOHN DOE (4) has not been too far away since winning his maiden at Otaki in December. Include in all top 4 combos to be safe. SUGGESTED PLAY: Sandy Lane each-way at value.
