Take The Chance to take charge ahead of Dark Thinker at a good tempo.
DARK THINKER (9) stepped up to 1700m at Wellington last Friday and after racing up on the speed held on well to finish second in a Class 1. Has raced six times over the mile for five minor placings. This isn't the strongest race so that sound recent form should stand up well. CROWN LEGEND (2) settled back in the field before making some late inroads in a BM66 over 1400m at Mudgee last time out. Back in class today and will appreciate the extra 200m. Big chance with a soft run assured out of gate one. TAKE THE CHANCE (7) backs up five days after finishing a close second over 1700m at Wellington. Stable must be pleased with how she pulled up so is worth following. LAGOON (8) went around in the same race as Take The Chance at Wellington last Sunday but was beaten comfortably. Suitably placed back at the mile so she can improve sharply. RAILWAY AVENUE (4) ran a far better race at Cowra last start. The 39-day gap between runs is a concern though. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Dark Thinker and Crown Legend.
