NZB AIRFREIGHT 3YO 1200m

Track: HEAVY 10     Out 9m

Rioja and Passiflora possess good early speed. MAZINO (5) bolted in when scoring an overdue maiden win at Waverley by 3 lengths, and her next 2 starts have been full of merit when only being claimed late after leading to finish runner-up. She is perfectly drawn this time, and she should take some pegging back. TALE OF THE GYPSY (4) won a BM65 here fresh up, and her next 3 starts have all been in much tougher fields. She is nicely placed at this level with the same weight that she carried when she won, and a form reversal is on the cards. CONVINCED (8) won on debut before tackling Stakes company in her last couple of starts, including her last run in the NZB Kiwi at Ellerslie nearly 6 weeks ago. Dropping back to 1200m at this level is the key, and she is worth another chance. SIBLING RIVALRY (3) was a solid third at Tauranga fresh. Include. PASSIFLORA (2) has been freshened since her last start third at Trentham at the end of January. She is very progressive, and from a good gate with Craig Grylls in the saddle, she can win this. SUGGESTED PLAY: Tale Of The Gypsy each-way.
