Strong tempo to be established by Noubentekh, Shooter Mcgavin and Miss Ellaneous. BREAK THE TABOO (12) is racing well and is close to a win, the latest effort a solid third at Warrnambool over 1400m. Looks primed to peak third-up and Linda Meech on from the inside alley a big edge. MISS ELLANEOUS (9) was too good for a maiden field last start over 1206m at Ararat, scoring by a neck. She was well-backed there and while this is a step up, the support that day and performance gave the feel of a horse who can rise through the grades. SHOOTER MCGAVIN (3) hadn't been far away prior to finishing 9 lengths adrift in sixth last start over 1400m at Warrnambool. Does have a tricky gate, but that could be offset by the 4kg claim and he deserves another chance. HAY JOE (2) sees 0-56 grade for the first time since September and with the benefit of a couple of runs back, he gets his best chance in ages to log another win. HASTA LA CHILLY (4) will find this a step up on recent assignments, but is racing consistently and has his tail up. SUGGESTED PLAY: Break The Taboo each-way.
