The ideally-drawn All In Vain to set a strong tempo with Mallee Gold and Hydrogen Power applying plenty of pressure. MALLEE GOLD (1) finished 10th over 1200m in 70 grade at Ballarat last time out following a couple of wins in a row, including one in 66 company. A repeat of that run should be good enough to go close here. Stablemate JET JITSU (4) settled well back then made some inroads and finished 10 lengths away in fifth last time out over 1400m at Ballarat two weeks ago, but this is significantly easier and if they can make ground he needs to go in everything. VINCENTINA (8) disappointed here last start, but the good support was encouraging and might have just needed that, so could be ready to peak now. HYDROGEN POWER (6) is close to breaking through following a narrow defeat last time over 1600m at Swan Hill. Blinkers removed and looks one of the main hopes. COULDTHISBETHEONE (2) finished 2.5 lengths back in fourth over 1717m at Sale last time out after a gutsy win two runs back. Will find this a little easier than last time. SUGGESTED PLAY: Mallee Gold each-way.
