Solid tempo anticipated with Diante leading the way. DIANTE (3) led as favourite this track/trip first-up and conceded late, beaten just 1.5L. Will be improved and will jump and run from the inside gate. She sets a decent standard. OCTOPOLIS (4) was in the market 36 days ago at Cairns on debut and didn't enjoy much luck. She's been placed in a Bowen trial since, and has a key jockey switch to Wiggins. Quick improvement is on the cards. BOOMIOUS (1) jumped $4.8 at Townsville first-up but settled back and was never a winning hope. Expect a better effort over the longer distance. BIG BARRY (2) resumes with the in-form Cormack engaged. We may see more from him this time around. SUGGESTED PLAY: Diante to win.
