Plenty of pace from the outset with Hasta La Oinkers and Eismond leading the charge. EISMOND (9) is the most interesting runner at the meeting; a 4YO Japanese mare on debut in Australia. Had 14 starts in her homeland and couldn't break through, but did place nine times. Straight to 2000m here but has never raced below 1600m and got out to 2200m, so the distance shouldn't be an issue and she's had jumpouts over 1000m and 1200m in preparation for the return. EPOCH (1) looks the hardest for her to beat, at peak fitness after four consistent runs this time and better for the latest run at this trip. Eismond's stablemate HE'S ON SONG (7) should also be ready after four runs back and while beaten a long way last start, he's back in trip here which might be more to his liking. HASTA LA OINKERS (2) wasn't too far away from He's On Song three back and has held that form, so if He's On Song is in contention so is the SA visitor. SNITZEL VON KIRK (8) as a terrible gate, but went close at 1860m last time and should relish even more ground here. SUGGESTED PLAY: Eismond to win.
