SMILE FOREST (8) looks close to a win, finishing in the placings at his last couple of runs including a second most recently over 1300m at this track when beaten 1.3 lengths. Has good early toe so he should be handy in the run. Expected to be in the finish. GUSHICHANNO HOSHI (11) was prominent from the outset when fifth over 1400m at this track last time out. Has the pace to settle in the leading division. Best form puts him right in this. VILA ISABEL (6) performed above expectations last time over 1300m at this track, finishing 1.5 lengths from the winner in second after starting at huge odds. Among the leading hopes. GOEMOOL (4) missed the frame last start over 1400m at this track, finishing seventh. The engagement of Isao Yamaguchi is a positive move. Better than recent efforts suggest and worth thought.
