Despite the small field Fodor, Spirit Meister and Tycoon Beau can set a strong tempo. FODOR (2) proved too strong two runs ago at this track. Safely held last time out when third over 1400m at Townsville, beaten 4 lengths after being prominent at the bend. Well placed and there is no reason why he cannot make amends. TYCOON BEAU (4) resumed over 1000m and turned in a fair run to finish fourth at Townsville. With the run under his belt the extra ground looks a plus and should be much improved. SPIRIT MEISTER (8) is coming off a last-start fifth, beaten 3 lengths, over 1200m at Innisfail. Has a solid record here including six wins and 16 minor placings from 27 outings. Should run very well. INCHING CLOSER (1) rounds out the small field. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning towards Fodor.
