Slick pace with Everlasting Spirit finding the front but it won't be a picnic with a few other speedy types engaged. MAGIC MIKEY (7) ended last campaign on a positive note, dropping back to the mile and proving too strong as the race favourite at this track. Racing over the 1500m first-up looks ideal and he's been effective up to 1900m in recent races. Will prove hard to hold out if he can pick up where he left off. PURE CHINO (2) resumes without a trial but finds a suitable race first-up after showing he'll stay until last drinks last time in work. He may give them a head start from the barrier, but he's back in grade today and he's sure to be strong late in the race. LORDGIVEMESTRENGTH (11) never really got into the race first-up at Ascot, but the form has worked out well and she'll be better for that effort. Gets into this down in the weights and with improvement likely, she's a winning hope. DUBLIN RED (5) is racing in good order and is worth including on recent efforts. EVERLASTING SPIRIT (10) was too good at Kalgoorlie first-up and commands respect. SUGGESTED PLAY: Magic Mikey can score the last.
