Good pace from Miss Pierata, Haphazard and Karmardo. KARMARDO (1) strode forward early from his wide draw over 1200m at Townsville last time, leading for much of the way before being claimed in the straight to finish second, beaten a long neck. Well-placed and will take some catching. COLONEL PARKER (7) was one of the favoured runners last time out but didn't live up to market expectations, finishing sixth over 900m at Innisfail. Finds a suitable assignment this time and is a great chance to break through. MISS PIERATA (12) turned in a nice effort last time out at the second run of the campaign and finished just 1.75 lengths from the winner in second over 900m at Innisfail after being prominent at the bend. It doesn't get any easier but on her best form she is one of the chief contenders. HAPHAZARD (5) finished third last time over 950m at this circuit, beaten 2.5 lengths. Will trim down following recent racing. Likely improver with solid claims. SUGGESTED PLAY: Karmardo to shed the maiden tag.
