In the absence of noted leaders, Unique Color and Lucky Crown may be the ones to set a moderate tempo. LUCKY CROWN (6) settled well back then made a little ground and finished fifth last time out over 1200m at this track two weeks ago. Had looked close to a win when placed in the previous two outings. Steps up in journey today. Looks tough to beat. UNIQUE COLOR (8) hit the frame two starts ago at Mizusawa but ran below par last time. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot find winning ways. DOLCE VITA (1) returned from a spell two weeks ago when she was seventh over 1200m at this track. Has a fair record when second up, including three top-three finishes. Strips fitter and can improve. EFFULGENT (5) is finding the breakthrough elusive but has claims off a second three starts back.
