Expecting Ropewalker to lead Newlander at just a moderate tempo. BRILLIANT KNIGHT (1) stuck on gamely at his first run back when a respectable fourth over 1500m at this track. Drawn to get the right run today and doesn't have to improve much to win this. ROPEWALKER (10) earlier runs were sound before jumping in trip when a plodding eighth over 1900m at Armidale. Grima hops back on for this and can find form quickly at the good each way price. ABATED BREATH (2) near his peak for this after racing over the unsuitable trips. Stable apprentice back aboard and will be strong late. JOIKA (6) well-bred Maurice filly out of Julkkis on debut for the Messara & Gavranich yard. Hardly set the world alight in three trials and expect a much better performance under race conditions over this trip. HEAPY'S LEGACY (8) finds an easier race today and goes into the exotics. SUGGESTED PLAY: Brilliant Knight can shed his maiden tag.
