Moderate pace with T O Douglas taking up the running ahead of Chernobog and Fervent. FERVENT (6) has returned in good shape this preparation. Opened with a second at Kyoto two starts back then scored by 1.3 lengths as favourite last time out over 1600m at this track. Koji Nishizuka scored on him last time and retains the ride. Stepping up a level this time but on current form he is one of the chief contenders. CHERNOBOG (2) wound up strongly last time out to finish a head adrift in second over 1800m at Kyoto. Commendable record at this trip with a win and six minor placings. Top chance. T O DOUGLAS (4) is racing well and is close to a win, the latest effort a solid third at Nakayama over 2000m. Should park just off the speed. Has the talent to take this out. BUENA ONDA (3) has been in the money at his last couple of runs, the latest when third over 1600m at Nakayama. Hard to fault of late.
