Keen exchange with Pastorale likely to hold the lead off the inside draw with Silver Dia and Sengumbamba pressuring. PASTORALE (1) resumes today after filling a minor placing at his only appearance last prep at Nakayama over 2000m on January 18. Has good early speed so should take up a forward position. Best form puts him right in this. MINT MARK (4) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 2000m at Chukyo, beaten 1.5 lengths into fifth. Beautifully placed and is sure to be there at the finish. BAGAN (5) has been kept fresh for this since a disappointing fifth last start over 1800m at Kyoto two months ago. Should park just off the speed. Winning claims on best figures. BIRDWATCHER (13) hasn't been able to break through for an extended period, the latest effort a eighth over 1800m at Tokyo. Nicely placed to break the run of outs.
