Sizzling pace from Resilient, American Cool and Brutus locking horns ahead of Odoranya Sonson and Mitsukane Scorpio. BRUTUS (3) wasn't far off maiden success before a break of 11 weeks, finishing the campaign with a minor placing over 1800m at Nakayama Dirt. Good effort to open last prep when in the money at this track over 1700m. Looks the one to beat. MAN OF THE MATCH (8) has put together back-to-back placings, the latest when 1.5 lengths away in second over 1700m at Kokura Dirt when he was in the firing line all the way. Nicely placed to feature in the finish. ODORANYA SONSON (6) was prominent at the bend and ran a better race last start to finish a close second over 1800m at Chukyo Dirt after missing the placings at the previous appearance. Has his share of ability. Hard to beat in this suitable race. KOKODE IKKU (13) is a two-start maiden who finished fourth, beaten 3 lengths, when resuming from a spell last start over 2000m at Hanshin Dirt. Should progress from that last outing and poses a genuine threat.
