Looking to Claidheamh Mor, Ziryab and Independent Road as likely leaders in a solid speed battle. ZIRYAB (7) is in the premier stable and is well-placed. Led beaten 1L in a Moonee Valley 100 last time, and is form prior at Flemington over a mile is equally compelling. He may take a trail today and will take plenty of beating. MYSTERY ISLAND (4) comes back a bit from a staying trip, briefly freshened. He will appreciate the decent temp and x2 winning rider Coffey is reunited. He's going well enough to feature. INDEPENDENT ROAD (5) hasn't won for a while, but he's well placed at best. His near miss at Stony Creek two back rates well enough. STARDOM AWAAYTS (12) and RICH CHAMPAGNE (8) both draw inside barriers and sit down in the weights. They are going well and can't be ruled out. CLAIDHEAMH MOR (3) had been off the scene for a long while and is going to be a lot sharper second-up. Likes the trip but needs a good ride. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Ziryab to win.
