Pace looks strong with American Runner pushing forward while La La Avril kicks up on the inside. MOZU K STAR (2) came home strongly last start to finish third, beaten 1.1 lengths, over 1400m at this track when fresh from a break. Has a win and five minor placings at this journey from eight starts and with that run under the belt shapes as a key contender. VRTRAHAN (13) finished third when resuming from a spell last start over 1200m at this track. Recorded his only win when second-up last prep over 1200m at Hanshin Dirt. Leading player. LA LA AVRIL (1) finished out of the money two starts back then was beaten 2.75 lengths when fourth over 1200m at this track two weeks ago after being in the firing line on the turn. Finds a nice race and can figure in the finish. PAVIA (4) is a strong fresh performer back after a break of six months and looking to emulate her win at Chukyo Dirt to kick off the last campaign. One of the genuine hopes in the race.
