ISTOLEA MERC (8) replicated his two slick trials when spearing across from the wide gate first-up, with a career best victory in fast time over this trip at Warwick Farm. J Mac takes the reins and he should get the cart across from the awkward gate. Proven second-up and looks the one to catch again. MOGUL MONARCH (3) consistent gelding with his hoof on the till. Comes out of a strong rating race after taking good ground off Roselyn Star when second over 1100m at Rosehill. Can stalk from the wide gate and represents value. MEMORIA (4) has an exceptional first-up record and will give them something to catch from the low draw with the claim. Primed for this with the two searching trials and Osmond has a good association on her. BALKANS (9) hard to catch on his day but latest run had merit when sitting on the speed to run third at Warwick Farm. Will likely go back from the barrier and be ridden for luck. BRAVE ONE (1) went to a new level last campaign and resumes here with the one trial. SUGGESTED PLAY: Istolea Merc to keep the winning momentum going.
