Vintage Kod should spear straight to the front of the small field. See no reason to jump off AUXILIARY (2) who has put two wins together in a row, backing up an easy maiden win with a gritty victory at Mornington over 1200m last time out. Bit more depth here but he's progressive and draws for every chance again. SUGAR COAT (4) ran a nice race fresh at Sandown Hillside in a strong BM66, getting home well for a narrow fifth. He'll strip fitter for that and did front up against some good company last time in. Hard to hold out. ILLUMINANCE (7) hasn't done a whole lot of winning in his career but has pieces of form that say his record should be better. She was solid in fourth in town last time and has finished in the quinella (winning one) in all five starts here on her home deck. NATION STATE (3) is racing consistently without winning and looks an each way hope once more while LOPE DE LARDO (9) is off a short break into his 3yo season, respecting the upside. SUGGESTED PLAY: Auxiliary to win.
