GOING: G(3)

Macs Hotel Mortlake BM52 Handicap 1300m

Track: GOOD 3     Rail: True Entire Circuit. (Pent: 5.15)

Genuine tempo with the speedy In The Sun leading the way. Tough. DEEP CORE (8) was much improved beaten a whisker at Avoca. Keeps the 2kg claim and fitter he gets his chance in a modest race. IN THE SUN (10) led and went close at St Arnaud first-up. Looks to be back on track and he can build on that effort. HAATHER (2) peaks and is good enough at best. Will give away a start but come hard. SURFY PETE (1) resumes for the new stable and has won fresh. He has the ability and despite a wide barrier has to be kept onside. POETIC WHISPER (4) led beaten 1.5L at Hamilton first-up. Has a handy 3kg claim and will race forward again. Can make the finish holding that form. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Deep Core.
