GOING: G

WIN Television Gippsland 0-56 Handicap 1900m

Track: Good 4   Rain (Max: 25)   Rail: True Entire Circuit. (Pent: 5.05)

Genuine tempo with Bookman and Stay A While leading the way. MARLIN (2) was below his best last time, finishing ninth and beaten 11 lengths over 2200m at Sale but finds an easier assignment and can turn things around. BOOKMAN (1) has been a frustration for connections of late, filling minor placings at his past five, and for that reason alone he is a must for all exotics. Can win with the right run. LORD DEVENISH (4) missed the placings two runs back then was never in contention last start when 27 lengths away in ninth over 2100m at Benalla. Ideally placed back in this sort of race, though, and is sure to prove tough to beat. CUDMORE STREET (3) doesn't win often, but a lot of the rivals here are in the same boat, and might be better suited up in trip now after dropping back to 1600m last start. SUGGESTED PLAY: Marlin each way.
