Vougeot should be able to comfortably find the front. VOUGEOT (7) tried hard when finishing fourth on debut at Avondale, and he would have learned a lot from that experience. He strips fitter, and more importantly, he steps straight up to a middle distance. Hard to beat this time. BAXTER (1) came home with a rush in his penultimate start at Tauranga and was runner-up by a short-head, before racing on the pace as favourite at Te Aroha and finishing fourth. He is likely to be ridden more patiently this time and is overdue to break through for his first win. Follow your money. ARTURA (3) stepped up to a middle distance and ran his best race yet when finishing third on the Cambridge poly track 10 days ago. Stick with him on an an each-way basis here. MOBILIZED (4) has been steadily improving in each of his 3 starts and was a sound third at Te Aroha last time out. He relishes wet ground and will be having his first run in an anti-clockwise direction. Each way. KHANDO (10) just peaked on her run second up at Arawa Park. Don't risk her here. SUGGESTED PLAY: Artura is worth following in a very even contest.
