Genuine tempo with Tasting leading the way. FORNAX (1) was lining up for just the second time last start when third over 1600m at Hanshin, beaten 1.75 lengths, after coming from midfield in a small line-up. Heading in the right direction and looks the one to beat. VILLA JOVIS (3) resumes from a spell of three months. Looked close to a win before that break, finishing off with a minor placing over 1800m at Sapporo. Nicely placed and expected to go well. POWWOW BEAT (5) made an encouraging debut last time out, finishing 5.5 lengths from the winner in third over 1600m at this track. One of the main contenders. MEISHO SOTEN (6) didn't do a bad job on debut two-and-a-half weeks ago, finishing 7 lengths from the winner in fifth over 1600m at this track. Will take a lot from that experience and can feature in the finish.
