Just a modest pace in store without noted speed runners engaged. Tricky. VARAZZE (11) resumes and at this stage rates best . She's switched from a sharp Sydney stable and didn't come up last preparation. Her effort at Scone on debut more than stacks up. Looked good in a recent Scone trial and has an inside barrier. The local DENMAN DEPUTY (2) was beaten 2L here on debut when expected to need it. Fitter and keeps the 2kg claim. A quick improver. THE CONTRACTOR (4) resumes and was last seen when beaten a whisker here on debut. Will be naturally improved and Cahill staying aboard is a decent push for his chances. MISS ADAMAS (7) resumes and is better than the form line suggests. She's placed 4/5 fresh and has be kept onside. SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Varazze.
